The Library of Congress is requesting information describing currently available, or soon to be available, high capacity, high performance integrated cache disk arrays (ICDA). Appropriate disk arrays must be configurable for direct attachment to at least 6 IBM RS/6000 AIX based servers and should be compatible with RS/6000 SP environment and AIX 4.2 or higher. Information is requested for those ICDA products that scale in capacity from several hundred gigabytes of data storage to a minimum of one terabyte of data storage. The information provided should detail fully the ICDA's device specifications; minimum and maximum data storage capabilities and all applicable scaling paths; performance specifications in terms of volume access times and data read/write times; ability to provide configuration administration facilities directly compatible with the AIX SMIT utility; ability to provide a RAID-5 or compatible level of data protection, and hot sparing capability; SCSI and/or fiber host connection capabilities; built-in continuous operation high availability features; and all related costs. The information provided should also include an estimated cost or copy of a published price list of the proposed system. If applicable, GSA Schedule contract should be provided. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION and is considered to be Market Research. The intent of this sources sought synopsis is to determine if any sources exist, therefore, no RFP is available. Consequently, any responses failing to provide the aforementioned data but instead submit a routine letter requesting a copy of the RFP will be ignored.
