10 -- INTENT TO NEGOTIATE A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT POC Renee Brooks (SEA02611B) (703) 602-7706 The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Northrop Grumman Corporation, Electronic Systems and Systems Division, 18901 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland OH 44117 for the development of the Common Broadband Advanced Sonar System (CBASS). The CBASS will provide the hardware required to implement a broadband sonar system in the ADCAP torpedo. This hardware will include new broadband capable components including the sonar array and the sonar analog receiver. Modified broadband capable components will include the preamplifier and the transmitter. In addition to being a qualified manufacturer of the MK48 ADCAP Torpedo, NGC has developed technology and gained expertise applicable to a torpedo broadband sonar system. This technology and expertise is the key to successful implementation of a broadband sonar system in the ADCAP torpedo.
