This acquisition will be conducted under the authority of the test program for commercial items contained in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) subpart 13.6 and as authorized by 41 U.S.C 253. Specifically, FAR subpart 13.601(a) provides authorization to utilize simplified procedures for the acquisition of commercial items which do not exceed $5,000,000.00, including options. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued requesting a single source to supply library subscription services to the SSA Library located in Baltimore, Maryland and to approximately 500 micropurchasers located in the Baltimore-Washington area. The Contractor shall provide basic library services which include placing new and renewal orders with publishers, prepaying publishers and claiming missing issues. The period of performance shall be from the date of award through September 30, 1997. Thesolicitation SSA-RFQ-97-3312 along with a listing of subscription tiles to be ordered or renewed will be issued on or about August 10, 1997 with responses due 10 days thereafter.
