Center training projects for transportation safety and regulatory
functions of the DOT and other sponsoring agencies. Training projects
cover a wide range of technical work related to the areas of human
performance technology analysis, training materials development,
implementation and evaluation related to technical job performance,
process assistance applications and information systems applications.
Tasks may involve work in some or all of the following areas:
Requirements studies to determine training scope, content, objectives,
methodology, and media; materials development using relevant
technology and methodology (i.e., instructor led lecture/lab,
self-paced training, cascade training, interactive video disc, computer
based training/instruction (CBT/CBI), video and audio; implementation
both locally at the Volpe Center and internationally at the sponsors'
Headquarters, Regional and Field Office sites; and evaluation of the
training both during and following the implementation. Duration of the
contract is five years and 66,500 professional technical labor hours
will be required. This notice is for informational purposes for
Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The
Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged
Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related
contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program
(STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further
information and applicable forms concerning the STLP, please call the
OSDBU at (800) 532-1169. For information concerning the acquisition,
