Principle features of the work consist of but are not limited to all plant, labor, materials, and supplies required to furnish and deliver four (4) new marine compression-ignition diesel fueled engines and four (4) new marine gear transmissions to repower the Corps tender ships Wells and Lyon. Two (2) have engine rating 270 bhp minimum (gross continuous) at 1800 rpm. Marine gear transmission ratio 3.5:1 to 3.6:1. Two (2) have 365 bhp minimum (gross continuous) at 1800 rpm. Marine gear transmission ratio 4.5:1. Engines and marine gear transmissions will be installed by the Government. The contractor shall provide gage/control panels, spare parts, consumables, and accessories required to install the engines and transmissions as specified.
