firm fixed price delivery order the Operational Data Recorder (ODR).
This equipment is used to capture engine related data for export into
the evaluation software. The evaluation software presents performance
trending, events, engine dynamics, and alarm information for analysis.
The evaluation software works within the Windows operating
environment. Links to desktop or laptop computer via a serial
interface. This system is composed of Operational Data Recorder type
1configuration -- MTU part number 5005381070. Installed in an IP 20
housing (19-inch rack installable) consisting of -- 24VDC internal
power supply, Processor board, Drive control board, Hard disk drive,
Operating software. Shock mount housing for the ODR -- MTU part number
5285300660. Evaluation software (for analysis) -- MTU part number
599004-772039. Since this equipment may not be used for an extended
period of time, all equipment must be factory tested and certified
prior to acceptance by the US Government. The equipment has to be
packaged for long term storage and special storage/handling
requirements specified. This action is to be added to the existing
delivery order for spares with Detroit Diesel/MTU, 4141 S. W. 30th
Ave., Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33312. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1),
justification: supplies (or services) required are available from only
one or a limited number of responsible source(s) and no other type of
supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This will be a
reoccurring request for the procurement of Operational Data Recorders
(ODR) for the MK V SOC MTU Engine (12V396 TE 94). The total number of
ODR needed are (20) a direct function of the number of MK V production
craft procured from Halter Marine under the production contract
(MDA911-95-C-0004). The proposed contract action is for supplies for
which the Government intends to negotiate with only one or a limited
number of sources under the authority of FAR 6.302. Delivery are for
various locations. Interested persons may identify their interest and
capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This
notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However,
all proposals received within fifteen days after date of publication of
this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by
the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon response
to this notice is solely the discretion of the Government. Information
received will normally be considered a competitive procurement. The
