Number (301)480-3345 The National Institutes of Health has a
requirement for the furnishing and installation of sound panels in
accordance with the standards and specifications listed in the
solicitation for kennels in Building 102, rooms 121, 123, 125 and 127,
and Building 104, Rooms 101, 103, and 109 on the Bethesda, Maryland
campus. The sound panels shall consist of hanging panels with support
wires, kennel run wall panels with mounting brackets, and wall mounted
panels with mounting brackets. All panels shall be seal ed in a
plastic film using as few a seams as possible to prevent the sound
absorbing material from getting wet. The plastic film shall be designed
to withstand washing at 190 degree F temperatures for a maximum of 30
minutes. All mounting hardware shall be 304 type, stainless steel. The
system shall be designed and installed to provide a noise level not to
exceed 95 to 100 dBA. The hanging panels, kennel run wall panels, and
wall mounted panels shall be approximately 2 feet by 4 feet by 1 inch
in overal l size. Approximately 68 panels total per room shall be
required for rooms located in Building 102. Approximately 83 panels
total per room shall be required for rooms located in Building 104. The
contract period of performance shall be for a basic contract period of
(12) months, with options to renew for two (2) additional twelve month
periods. Furnishing and installation of sound panels for the basic
contract period shall be required to occur for Building 102, room 121
and Building 104, Room 101 approxi mately 150 days after award;
Furnishing and installation of sound panels for the first option period
shall be required to occur for Building 102, room 123 and Building 104,
Room 103 approximately 150 days after the exercise of the option;
Furnishing and installation of sound panels for the second option
period shall be required to occur for Building 102, rooms 125, 127 and
Building 104, Room 103 approximately 150 days after the exercise of
the option. All reponsible sources may submit a proposal which shal l
beconsidered by the agency. This requirement is 100% set-aside for
