The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Mozambique plans to issue a Request for Applications (RFA) for a Cooperative Agreement to provide assistance to strengthen civil society groups to give them the means to develop and offer opinions, points of view and concrete proposals for political reforms in Mozambique which promote a consolidation of the democratic process. The activities would begin in latter half of 1997 and end two years thereafter. A Request for Applications will be issued no earlier than 10 days from the date of publication of this notice. The deadline for receipt of applications will be approximately 45 days after the date of RFA issuance. All responsible sources may submit an application which will be considered by USAID/Mozambique. The solicitation for this requirement is expected to result in the award of a cooperative agreement. The preferred method of distribution of USAID procurement information is via the Internet or by request of a solicitation on a 3.5"floppy disk (WordPerfect 5.1/5.2 format). Receipt of this RFA through INTERNET must be confirmed by written notification to the contact person noted above.
