The Office of Managed Care, SAMHSA, through the Program Support Center, General Acquisitions Branch, intends to award a sole source Simplified Acquisition to National Mental Health Association, to convene an Interdisciplinary Prevention and Managed Care Workgroup. The workgroup will consist of key national experts and stakeholders including prevention researchers and service providers, managed healthcare providers, advocates, consumers, and other identified national leaders to address the role of prevention of substance abuse and mental health problems in the ever changing managed healthcare environment. The workgroup will develop draft guidelines for promoting prevention activities in managed care settings that will be used in 1998 in a easy-to-read guide addressing critical issues for prevention managed care. The period of performance shall be August 24, 1997 through December 31, 1997. No solicitation will be issued. (0218)
