S -- FIRE SUPPRESSION/FIGHTING SERVICE SOL RFP529-16-97 DUE 092297 POC Sharon Leszczynski 412/477-5052 It is the intent of the VA Medical Center, Butler, PA to negotiate sole source under the authority of FAR 6.302 with the City of Butler, PA for Fire Suppression/Fire Fighting Services at this facility. Contract term will be for a one year base period with 4 one year options to extend services. Contractor must respond to the medical center with an absolute minimum of at least four trained, professional firefighters and at least one Class A (1,000 gallon/minute) fire pumper within 8 minutes of initial call. This is a sole source requirement and if no affirmative written responses are received that a comparable source is available, a sole source contract will be negotiated. Responses indicating an interest in this acquisition must be received within 15 calendar days of publication of this notice. Interested parties must submit evidence proving their capability to respond to the requirements. The successful offeror will be required to demonstrate this capability prior to contract award.
