The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority has a requirement for the development of a training program on emergency procedures for responding to railcar incidents for approximately 100 Fire Service trainers in the transit zone which includes Arlington and Fairfax Counties in Virginia, Montgomery County and Prince George's County in Maryland, the City of Alexandria, Virginia, the District of Columbia, and the Washington Airports Authority. The program comprises ongoing classes over the next five years and refresher classes for trainers at 2-year intervals. Ongoing training classes from an existing Joint Supervisory Class for WMATA and Transit Zone managers and supervisors with refresher classes is also an integral part of the program.
