V -- HELICOPTER SERVICE, STREAM/TREE PLACEMENT SOL RFQ 97-8508 DUE 090897 POC Contact, Administrative Services, 541/750-7118 This project consists of securing heavy lift helicopter services. Pilots shall be required to long-line trees, ranging in weight from 16,000 pounds to 26,500 pounds, from tree cutting sites to designated stream locations. The mountainous terrain will be varied in elevations (150-800 feet pressure altitude at temperature ranges below 85 degrees fahrenheit). Terrain consists of narrow canyons and moderately steep slopes. The Contractor will also be responsible for felling and bucking marked trees for yarding. The Contractor shall furnish all supplies, materials, labor, supervision and transportation (except that listed as Government-furnished) required to complete the project. This project is located on the Alsea Ranger District, Siuslaw National Forest, Lane and Lincoln Counties, Oregon. Contract period is between September 15 and October 15, 1997.
