WRandall@email.usps.gov. 1. The Postal Service is searching for sources
to produce a Flats Canceler/Stacker Model 15 in accordance with the
United States Postal Service Technical Data Package (TDP). The Flats
Canceler/Stacker Model 15 cancels and stacks flats ranging in size from
a minimum of 6 by 9 inches to a maximum of 14 by 16 inches, with a
thickness of no more than 1/2 inch. The flats canceler/stacker consists
of three modules; the input feed conveyor, the canceler, and the
stacker. 2. Unit 1/Input Feed Conveyor Module The input feed conveyor
is a 10-foot long, 6-inch wide conveyor belt normally positioned next
to a C-89 Portable Conveyor. The input feed conveyor transports mail to
the canceler. 3. Unit 2/Canceler Module The canceler singulates and
cancels the mailpieces. It then counts and transports them to the
stacker. 4. Unit 3/Stacker Module The stacker routes the mailpieces to
one of two designated stacker lanes, lane a or lane B. The mail is
then stacked on a cart that is magnetically held to the stacker frame.
Each cart is designed to hold a 48-inch stack of cancelled flats. 5.
There will be a limited number of solicitations (including Tdp's)
issued (20 packages are available). The Solicitation will be issued on
08/11/97 and returned on 08/29/97. There will be a charge of $198.50
per solicitation package including shipping. 6. This equipment is
required to be installed for the Holiday period at some facilities by
early November. The Postal Service anticipates requisitioning not less
than 20 with a maximum of 100 with an option of 50% of maximum
