A -- SERVICE: CONDUCT R&D TO DEVELOP GLOVE SOL W13G07-7204-2018 POC Purchasing Agent SANDRA SHOFF (508) 233-4126 (Site Code DAAK60) The U.S. Army Soldier Systems Command intends to conduct negotiations with and award a Purchase Order, using simplified acquisition procedures, to Knoxville Glove Co, 444 Blount Ave., Knoxville, Tn 37920 on a basis of other than full and open competition. This is a 6.2 program that was funded to develop a new technology process for Waterproof Breathable Seamless Glove Inserts. Techspun is the company that has novel patent pending process to accomplish objective that US Army SSCOM is currently seeking a solution for. Techspun will develop and complete process of building waterproof breathable materials into 3-dimensional glove insert while eliminating seam allowances so that it complements a form-fit outershell. They chose a partnership with Knoxville Glove to integrate the new proces into a finished glove product. Knoxville Glove already has standard military waterproof glove dies, patterns, and CAD software to modify patterning as needed to build seamless insert to a form-fit product. Partnership agreement between Knoxville (prime) and Techspun (subcontractor) is the choice of the company proposing the unique process. No solicitation document is available. See Note 22. (0219)
