Hazen, Contract Specialist, (202) 324-4528 The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is soliciting bids utilizing full and open competition for the construction of a new parking structure at the FBI Academy, Quantico, Virginia. The parking structure will be a four (4) level, approximately 844 car parking structure with a basement comprising approximately 27,495 square meters. The construction consists of, but is not limited to the following: post-tensioned, cast-in-place reinforced concrete structure, pre-cast concrete panels, curtain wall system, aluminum and glass, overhead rolling doors, concrete masonry units, metal doors and frames, metal railings, toilet accessories, vinyl tile and base, gypsum board, traffic topping, paint, wall louvers, mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems, and site work. The estimated cost of this acquisition is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Bid, Payment and Performance Bonds are required. The FBI contemplates the award of a firm-fixed price contract as a result of this solicitation. A pre-bid/site investigation conference is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, September 11, 1997, at 1:00 p.m. local time at the FBI Academy, Quantico, Virginia. A 72 hour advance notification is required for all individuals who will be attending the pre-bid/site investigation conference. Because of FBI security requirements, interested parties shall furnish the names, date of birth, place of birth, and Social Security Numbers of each individual who will be attending the pre-bid/site investigation conference. Mailed bids must be postmarked, no later than five (5) calendar days prior to the bid opening date. Bids may be hand-delivered to the FBI Headquarters Building. All requests for bid documents, drawings and specifications must be in writing, including company name, contact person, telephone and facsimile numbers and street mailing address. Requests must also reference Invitation for Bids (IFB) 7115 and be postmarked no later than 15 calendar days from the date of this notice. Any request postmarked after the 15 calendar days will be subject to the availability of bid packages. There is a two (2) set limit. A refundable deposit is required in the amount of $500.00 per set, certified checks only. Additional sets of plans, specifications will be available for the refundable deposit amount of $500.00 per set with a non-refundable printing charge of $250.00 per set.
