(301)669-4043 The Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) has developed a
web based tool called SeaLink that enable customers to seamlessly
access various command intelligence databases including workd wide
target locations and characteristic and performance information. In
order to better serve the ultimate consumers request for a graphical
presentation of the positional data, ONI desires to purchase a
commercial mapping package compatible with the SeaLink environment.
Requirements for a SeaLink mapping package are as follows: Server
software that must run on a Sun Sparc 10/20/Ultra under Solaris 2.5.1
OS. The client machines which will display the mapping results will be
UNIX,PC, and Macintosh. The information should be displayable on any
platform running a web browser. Web browsers that will be supported are
any browser compatible with Netscap version 2.0. The package must be
able to input world wide positional data (latitude and longitude)and
time (move DTG) and plot the data on a map. (Information is stored as
either Oracle or Sybase format.) The map must then be displayed to the
client browser and downloadable as a GIF or JPEG formatted file. The
map must be able to support display of country boundaries and names as
well as other significant data such as rivers and islands. The package
should be able to link positional data to form tracks. The link field
should be defined at setup by the tool administrator. The user should
have the ability to select or de-select color schemes and shading as
well as the ability to vary the scale for various tracks. The user
should also have the capability to locally annotate and print the map.
The package must be integratable with existing SeaLink configuration
with little or no additional engineering or coding. The government will
