13 -- BRAIDED FIBERGLASS SLEEVES DUE 091297 POC Donna Coates, contract specialist, (301) 743-6574 NSWCIHD is seeking sources for fiberglass braided inhibiting sleeves for rocket motors. The sleeves are approximately 36 inches in length, 2.109 inches OD and 0.024 inches wall thickness with one end increased to 0.4 inches thickness over the last 1.5 inches for a nozzle approach section. The thickness tolerances on this part are +/-0.004 inches. This latter section would also have an outside groove machined or molded into it for an O-ring. The unit would be made with S type fiberplass and use as a binder a mixture of Epoxy-Ceraset (Dupont Lanxide) resin for enhanced thermal protection. It is expected that there would be a requirement for about 200-300 of these units per year every 2-3 years.
