FISC San Diego is announcing its intent to issue a directed Sole Source procurement to RIX Industries under authority of FAR 6.302. This procurement is published as a Total Small Business Set-Aside action per FAR 52.219-6; all eligible, responsible sources may submit an offer. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.6 and the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the ONLY solicitation; quotes are being requested and A SEPARATE WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. Solicitation number N00244-97-Q-A348 applies and is issued as a Request For Quotation. The standard industrial code is 3563 and the business size standard is 500 employees. This requirement is for a fixed priced contract for Three (3) line items as follows. Line Item 0001: Quantity 2 each Upgrade Kits, RIX Industries p/n 204-1002; Line Item 0002: Quantity 2 each Crankshaft Mods, RIX Industries p/n 5-D2349-1M; Line Item 0003: Quantity 2 each Bearing Plates, RIX Industries p/n 38-B5317-1. These items are required to upgrade existing government-owned Model 30A compressors on MCM Class ships with counterbalancing to promote quieter smoother operation. Delivery of all items is required 30 days after award of contract to be delivered FOB Destination to: Receiving Officer, FISC San Diego Ingleside Det., 188 Coral Sea Rd, Ste A, Bldg 233 Naval Station, Ingleside, TX 78362-5000.
