70 -- DEMINING SUPPORT SYSTEM POC Mrs. Jane H. Sutherlin, Contracting Officer, (910)432-2146 This contract action is for a Demining Support Prototype, Translation and Maintenance Agreement for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. The system consists of Demining Support System (2 each), Delivery and Training (1 each), Translation Package (1 each) and Maintenance Contract (1 each). The system will will be used for demining operations in various African Countries. The translation package is Portuguese Translation Support and consists of the following; CLS 824 Student Guide (1 ea); CLS 824 Go/No Go Cards (1 ea); CLS 825 Student Guide (1 ea); CLS 826 Instructor Guide (1 ea); Demining Lesson Plans (1 ea); Demining Practical Exercise Cards (1 ea); Video Set 1 (1 ea); Video Set 2 (1 ea); Video Set 3 (1 ea); Video Set 4 (1 ea). This is a notice of intent to issue a sole source contract with Essex Corporation, 1430 Springhill Road, McLean, VA 22102 for the Demining Support Package. Offerors who can furnish the required items, may submit, in writing, a proposal substantiated by technical data, brochures, etc. to include price (FOB Destination). All responses must be received within 15 calendar days of the date of this CBD notice. No telphone requests will be accepted. Requests for a solicitation will be considered nonresponsive. All responses from responsible sources submitting the required information will be fully considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopisi of intent, the Contracting Officer may determine that the action may be competed.
