13 -- SLAM-ER WARHEAD PRODUCTION LOADING DEVELOPMENT SOL N68936-97-R-0278 DUE 092197 POC Paul Reagon, Contract Specialist, (760) 939-0895 The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA proposes to acquire by full and open competition SLAM-ER warhead production loading development. Production loading consists of lining and explosive loading of PBXC-129 into AGM-84H, SLAM-ER warhead cases. The contractor shall be capable of vacuum mixing with nitrogen purge, vacuum casting and vibration equipment. The empty warhead cases and CXM-9 explosive will be provided as Government Furnished Material. The contractor will be responsible for making small batches of explosive and liner for Government approval. After approval, the contractor will prepare a first article lot of 3 each loaded cases for Government approval. After Government authoriztion to proceed, contractor will explosive load a production lot of 61 each cases. The Government may exercise an option for an additional quantity of 8 each loading of cases concurrent with the first article loading. Award will be on a best value basis. Those offerors who have participated in an existing Cooperative Research And Development Agreement for this effort need not respond to this notice.
