comiskey,k@albany.va.gov. The Stratton VA Medical Center, Albany, NY is
seeking qualified firms to provide two (2) electronic purification
systems for two (2) existing hot water systems to eliminate the
existence of Legionella bacteria in hot water recirculation.
Installation shall be performed by others. The systems shall be based
on an ionization process that is non-toxic, non-corrosive, shall not
damage pipes, valves, fixtures and in-line equipment, have residual
protection throughout the potable water system being treated, not be
dependent on chemicals and chemical injection systems and operate with
a minimum of labor and maintenance. EXISTING DATA: Two (2) existing
potable hot water heating systems are Airco Semi Instantaneous- One
system servces the basement through 4th floors and one system servces
5th through 12th floors; pipe size is 1 1/2"; water TDS is 50 mg/liter
(8.3 ph); total hot water flow per day is 36, 300 gallons. Firms
seeking consideration are required to submit the following date
(1)Material specifications for all parts and equipment with any utility
requirements; (2) Documentation of at least three (3) installations on
hospital hot water systems which deliver water throughout the
building; (3)Documentation of results of copper and silver levels and
Legionella cultures for a minimum of six (6) months for each
installation (4) Warranty information. The data should be addressed to:

provide: installation instructions, Operating and Naintenance Manuals,
Start Up Instructions, Operator Training of VA personnel to fully
acquaint personnel with all aspects necessary of operation and
