Bechtel Hanford, Inc., the Environmental Restoration Contractor (ERC) at the U.S. Department of Energy's Hanford Site, is funded for demonstrating and deploying technologies for cutting/sawing concrete (other than conventional diamond wire saws and circular or wall saws) capable of efficiently cutting windows/doors out of reinforced concrete walls and floors up to three (3) feet thick. Deployment would be for demolition of shutdown nuclear facilities. Systems must include control of effluents and emissions and should be able to perform from one side of a basement wall without causing contamination within the concrete to be transported into surrounding soil.
