This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested and a written RFQ will not be issued. RFQ DAAB07-97-Q-3024 is unrestricted. This RFQ incorporates the provisions and clauses of Federal Acquisition Circular 46. The requirement is for five each portable satellite telephone terminals that support STU-III secure voice and data. Data must be provided at 2400 bps or greater. Terminals must also offer unsecure data and voice modes that interface with standard telephone service providers. Terminals must operate on batteries for at least one hour. Car adapters, AC power adapters, battery chargers, and all necessary cables for connection of STU-III devices must be provided as part of each terminal. Terminals must provide worldwide coverage via satellite network. Require activation of terminals at the time of purchase. Also require capability to charge all service usage to a single account. Award is expected by 30 Aug 97 with a delivery date of 30 Sep 97. Delivery will be to two locations, Fairfax, VA and Fort Ritchie, MD.
