The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Technology Innovation Office (TIO), of the Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response, is announcing an invitation for submittal of new or updated information on innovative treatment technologies for listing in Version 6.0 of the VISITT database. VISITT is a service provided by TIO to technology vendors to make their products and capabilities known to professionals responsible for the cleanup of Superfund sites, RCRA corrective action sites, state-led cleanups, federal facility restoration programs, and remedial actions at leaking underground storage tank (UST) sites in the United States, as well as remediation projects abroad. This invitation is extended to technology vendors, developers, manufacturers, and suppliers of innovative treatment technologies that are designed to treat ground water in-situ, as well as soils, sludge, and sediments. Examples of technologies included are thermal desorption, bioremediation, solvent extraction, air sparging, chemical treatment, and in-situ vitrification. Not included are the more established technologies such as incineration, solidification/stabilization, and traditional pump-and-treat ground water remediation. Also not included are separate components of a treatment technology (such as bacteria for bioremediation) and technologies applicable to industrial waste streams (such as waste minimizing methods). Technologies may be at bench, pilot, or full scale. Vendors may call the VISITT Help Line at (800) 245-4505 to determine if their technologies fit the criteria for inclusion in VISITT. Vendors of eligible technologies must complete the Vendor Information Form (VIF) to participate in the database.
