Nye, (619)532-8088 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items, prepared in accordance with the format FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation, number N00259-97-Q-0146, is issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 9-46. the government intends to award this requirement on a sole source basis. The standard industrial classification (SIC) code for this acquisition is 8071. Calls will be placed against Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA's) on a monthly basis, however, the exact number of tests cannot be pre-determined. The number of required tests may fluctuate depending on patient care. The types of laboratory services required under this effort will include: amino karyotype/chromosome amniotic fluid, blood chromosome, bone marrow chromosome, DNA fragile X, tissue chromosome. Contractor must provide to the Naval Medical Center, San Diego on site access to consultants who participate in genetic counselling and specimen collection. Lab testing must be performed Monday through Friday and the contractor will be required to provide lab results to the Naval Medical Center, San Diego by means of either facsimile, mail, or contractor provided printer.
