This project involves the construction of a new 5,000 square foot government owned Main Post Office on government owned land. The project will not contain a Postal Retail Store, but will contain a normal customer service lobby area. The design is based on USPS small sized Building Standard Plans. It involves demolition of the existing Post Office (operations have already been moved into temporary quarters) and reconstruction of the new building on the same property. The building structure will utilize a wood piling system. Offeror must have a minimum of five (5) years experience as a General contractor and must have satisfactorily completed at least five (5) projects of similar size and scope. A preproposal conference has been scheduled for August 19, 1997 at 4:00 pm at the South Jersey District Office, 501 Benigno Blvd, Bellmawr NJ 08099-9991. The estimated price range is between $400,000 and $600,000 with completion required within 180 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
