Z -- MAINTENANCE DREDGING, 33-FOOT PROJECT, PALM BEACH HARBOR, FLORIDA & MAINTENANCE DREDGING 28- AND 30-FT PROJECT, FORT PIERCE HARBOR FLORIDA SOL DACW17-97-B-0023 DUE 093097 POC Contract Specialist Kathie Duke (904) 232-3713 (Site Code DACW17) Palm Beach Harbor maintenance dredging is the first order of work and will consist of dredging approximately 150,000 cubic yards of material from the Entrance Channel, Settling Basin, Cuts 1 and 2, and Northern and Southern Turning Basins. Palm Beach Base Bid beach disposal area is located adjacent to the south jetty and extends southerly approximately 3,000 feet. Palm Beach Optional beach disposal area is located approximately, 25,000 feet south of the inlet at Midtown Beach. Fort Pierce Harbor maintenance is the second order of work and consists of dredging approximately 30,000 cubic yards of material from Cut-1 and Cut-2. Fort Pierce beach disposal area is located 1,000 feet south of inlet and extends southward about 1,800 feet. Method of dredging is restricted to hopper or cutter suction dredges. Work also includes Turbidity and Endangered Species Monitoring. THE CONTRACTORS IS ADVISED THAT THE WORK UNDER THIS CONTRACT WILL BE CONDUCTED DURING THE WINTER SEASON (DECEMBER THROUGH MARCH) AND THAT WAVE CONDITIONS OF THREE FEET OR HIGHER MAY BE EXPECTED A MAJORITY OF THE TIME. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH PLANT AND EQUIPMENT THAT CAN ACCOMPLISH WORK WITHIN THE TIME SPECIFIED UNDER EXPECTED WAVE ENVIRONMENT SPECIFIED. Magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Pre-Solicitation Notice will be issued on or about 08 Aug 97. Invitation DACW17-97-B-0023 will be issued on or about 29 Aug 97 and opened on or about 30 Sept 97. Cost of Plans and Specifications is $50.00.
