The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) requires a complete Robot Arm System. This device will be used in a laboratory environment to move wet filters from a storage carousel to an oven for drying and back to the carousel. The arm shall have the following capabilities and characteristics: 1. Minimum payload capability of 1 lb. or 2.2 kg. 2. Minimum reach of 28 inches measured from base of the tool flange. 3. The robot case shall have 360 degree freedom of rotation. 4. The machine shall use a linear rail or track to allow access to the entire system. 5. The robot shall have six degrees of freedom. Each axis shall have 360 degree rotation capability. 6. The repeatability of arm placement shall not be greater than + -- 0.05mm. 7. The arm shall have an aggregate joint speed of 4.5 meters second and be capable of a 1.2 second standard 12 inch x 1 inch peck and place cycle. The USGS seeks a systems integrator or complete systems manufacturer who can supply the following hardware, software and services: 1. Robotic Arm. 2. Gripper. 3.Trays and racks. 4. Carousel. 5. Bar Code Scanner. 6. Warranty and Extended warranty. 7. On-site operator training. 8. Post-manufacture system setup and functional demonstration. 9. On-site installation, test, and functional demonstration. 10. Equipment manuals and operating instruction books. 11. Software as needed or required to operate the system.
