NUWC has issued a partial solicitation draft on its Webpage (http://www.npt.nuwc.navy.mil/contract/) for the procurement of Submarine EPIRBs. NUWC envisions the procurement to involve a "repackaging" of readily available commercial EPIRBs so that they can be launched from a submarine. Appropriate comments received in response to the draft on the Web will be incorporated into a formal solicitation which will be released in September or October of 1997.
