Under Statutory Authority 10 USC 2304(c)(1) (FAR 6.302-1), CBC Gulfport anticipates entering into a sole source procurement for 1 each Dual Wavelength Surgical Laser, Coherent Versapulse Select Dual Wavelength 80/100. The above authority is cited and justification is made based on the determination that the government's minimum needs can best be met by one source. This purchase meets government's minimum needs by providing dual wavelength, i.e. Nd:YAG and Holmium, in a single laser. The proposed sole source contractor is Coherent Inc., Palo Alto, CA. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by identifying themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer, and provide supporting evidence to the Contracting Officer with fifteen (15) calendar days after date of publication of this synopsis. The final determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition, based on any information provided, is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all proposals received by August 28, 1997, will be considered by the government. Information received as a result of this synopsis will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
