This is amendment 0002 to the synopsis/solicitation N00421-97-Q-1175 for a Digital Map System for the Pioneer Unmanned Aerial Vehicle that originally appeared in the CBD on 25 JUL 1997, Issue NO. PSA-1895. The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions from potential offerors. The following are the questions and answers pertaining to this procurement to date: (1) QUESTION: What is the definition of "Data Acquisition" in the specs for the Dual RS-422 Add-in Board? Is it the name of a company or is it the name of the card? ANSWER: The term "Data Acquisition" refers to the functional requirement of the PC which is normally satisfied with an add in board. Additionally, we are requiring that the data acquisition protocol supported by RS-422. Data Acquisition is not the name of a product or vendor as used in this context. The software will display the data in various formats on the screen. (2) QUESTION: Will the Bus-Four PCI Slots also require ISA or other types of slots (VESA, EISA, etc.) and if so, how many ISA (or other) slots will be required for the system? ANSWER: The PDMS PC is required to contain a minimum of four (4) PCI slots, these slots can be used for add in board (i.e. ATI video adapter, Disk Controller) if required to meet the other system requirements. The intent of this solicitation is to procure off-the-shelf PC equipment and as such a bus design including four PCI slots is required while the remaining slots can be either ISA or EISA. Responses to this solicitation should include acknowledgment of receipt of this amendment. The proposal due date is changed to 22 AUG 1997.
