49 -- AIRCRAFT GENERATOR TEST STAND SOL N68335-97-R-0058 DUE 021898 POC Stephanie Jenkins-Leonard, Contract Specialist, Code 2132B129-2, phone (732) 323-2818. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst intends to procure Aircraft Generator Test Stands, in accordance with a performance specification, to be used for Intermediate level maintenance on board aircraft carriers and at land based sites. The requirement is for three First Article Test Units with an option for 55 production units. The test stand is required to test all aircraft power generation system components currently in the US Navy inventory. The stands shall be designed to a modular configuration to allow for tailoring installation configurations to meet the requirements of space constraints found aboard aircraft carriers. The stands modular configuration shall consist of : Variable Speed Drive System, Data Acquisition System, Test Set Instrumentation, Hydraulic Cooling System and a Load Bank. Inspection and Acceptance will be at source. Special testing is required. Destinations will be to 12 aircraft carriers with the balance to AIRPAC and AIRLANT. Delivery is anticipated to be 12months after date of first article acceptance. This program will use Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) for the 20 years expected life of the system. This includes on line and on site support of the system, configuration control and operating, troubleshooting and training manuals and revisions to them as necessary. Direct Vendor Delivery (DVD) of parts vs. provisioning of spares by the Navy will also be utilized. A firm fixed price type contract is anticipated. Method of proposal evaluation will be best value.
