Musgrove, Contracting Officer, (301)295-6491 The National Naval Medical Center has a requirement for the Viral Testing Laboratory, Laboratory Medicine Department. NNMC intends to award a sole sourced standing order to Blackhawk Biosystems, Inc. for reagents. Blackhawk Biosystems, Inc. manufactures the only independent controls for use with retrovirus and hepatitis viral markers being an external control in blood donor screening and diagnostic testing. The following items will be procured: CLIN 0001: Twelve (12) kits Cat# 00102 Virotrol, three (3) kits to be delivered every three (3) months; CLIN 0002: Twelve (12) kits Cat# 00107 Viroclear, three (3) kits to be delivered every three (3) months. Award will be made in the form of a purchase order for a base year period of one (1) year effective 1 October 1997 through 30 September 1998 with two (2) year options. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition is being conducted under the guidelines as set forth in the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Award will be contingent upon availability of FY98 funding. (0226)
