SWITZERLAND: MODIFICATIONS OF THE ORDINANCES ABOUT THE TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ROAD VEHICLES (VTS, TAFV 1 AND TAFV 2) AS WELL AS THE MODIFICATIONS OF THE ORDINANCE ABOUT THE TYPE-APPROVAL OF ROAD VEHICLES (TGV) The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.97.380. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: SWITZERLAND. If applicable, name of local government involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2). 2. Agency responsible: Federal Office of Police. Agency or authority designated to handle comments regarding the notification can be indicated if different from above. 3. Notified under Article 2.9.2. 4. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: Modifications of the Ordinances about the Technical Requirements for Road Vehicles (VTS, TAFV 1 and TAFV 2) as well as the Modifications of the Ordinance about the Type-Approval of Road Vehicles (TGV). 6. Description of content: The modifications relative to the VTS are covering apart from some corrections and specifications of certain regulations mainly the adaptations to continuously evolved EC-Directives respectively to new or modified ECE-Regulations. It concerns especially the admission of replacement catalytic converters and retroreflecting inscriptions, the mounting of seat belts in minibuses, buses and in trucks, the marking of airbags as well as the equipping with head restraints in light vehicles and the mounting of additionally rearview mirrors on trucks preventing the fateful blind spot. A further proposal concerns the admission of additional brake lights and direction indicator lights on high vehicles. The modifications relative to TAFV 1, TAFV 2 and TGV are covering small adaptations due to modified EC-Directives and -- especially for the TGV -- certain specifications and completions which have proved as necessary in practice. 7.
