Z -- REPLACE UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS SOL IFB 786-14-98 DUE 102997 POC Contact Person, Evelyn Tucker, (703) 441-3086 (Voice) (703) 441-3070 (Fax) Services are required to replace underground storage tanks located at the Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, California and the San Francisco National Cemetery, San Francisco, California. Work includes but is not limited to: GOLDEN GATE N/C -- remove and dispose one underground 2000 gallon gasoline tank and one aboveground 550 gallon diesel tank. SAN FRANCISCO N/C -- remove and dispose one underground 1000 gallon gasoline tank and one underground 285 gallon diesel tank. Tanks are required to provide uninterrupted fueling service during construction period. Remove tanks at completion. Contractor is responsible for transfer of all fuel from existing tanks to new tanks at both sites. A one month notice before tank removal is required for cemeteries to utilize existing fuel supply and minimize waste. New above ground fuel tanks with pumps will be provided by the VA and installed by the contractor. Installation includes pouring concrete slabs and electric service to new tanks. Tank vendor will off load and place new tanks on ready slab. Contractor is responsible for removing two cubic yards of contaminated soil. Contaminated soil is anticipated around the existing fuel filling inlets. The period of performance is 90 calendar days from receipt of Notice to Proceed (MANDATORY). The Government's estimated price range for this procurement is between $100,000 and $250,000. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) for this acquisition is 1799. Request for the solicitation must be in writing. There will be a twenty-five ($25.00) dollar non-refundable charge for the solicitation package. Payment must be in the form of a cashiers check, certified check, or money order payable to the US Treasury. Solicitation packages will be available on or about September 29, 1997, with bid opening 30 days after issue. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered.
