The work to be performed under this project involves the construction of a HVAC system and upgrading of the electrical system in the Main Building No. 1. The building is a five (5) story masonry structure (approximately 219,900 square feet). Provide for the conversion of the present heating system from a steam system to water source heat pump and install the required electrical upgrade to meet the increase demand. The etimated contruction cost range is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. The estimated completion time is 392 calendar days. Plans and specifications will be available on September 2, 1997, from the office E-B-L Engineers, Inc., 8005 Harford Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21234, contact Mr. Loir McDaniel at (410) 668-8000 for additional information regarding this project. Collect calls will not be accepted. It is emphasized that requests for plans and specifications shall be directed to the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of requests. Requests must be in writing. Requests will be answered on a first-come, first serve basis until the supply is exhausted. For requests made after the supply is exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a fee is warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. Pre-bid walk-thru is scheduled for September 9, 1997, at 10:00 a.m., local time. The bid-opening will be on October 7, 1997, at 1:00 p.m., local time at the Woodstock Job Corps Center in Woodstock, Maryland. This is a 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE acquisition.
