The Defense Finance and Accounting Service Cleveland Contract Support Office (DFAS-CL/CSO) intends to award a sole source procurement for the acquisition of: Office Extend FTP software, 24 (twenty-four) copies for use on HP 3000 Field Host Processors (FHP). The software is to be installed as part of an existing system for the electronic transfer of field pay and personnel data input. The software provides the interface between the FHP's and the Uniform Microcomputer Disbursing System (UMIDS). and The software is compatible in all respects with the existing system. The Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition is FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source or Only A Limited Number of Responsible Sources. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all quotations received within fourteen (14) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Quotations received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
