A -- TEST SUPPORT FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (R&D) AND NUCLEAR SURVIVABILITY/OPERABILITY POC David Nemerow, Negotiator, (703) 325-6627, Billy G. Burks, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-5021 The Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) proposes a four year contract, to commence 1 Jan 98, to PRIMEX Physics International Co. (PPI), 2700 Merced Street, San Leandro, CA 94577-0599, for continuation of aboveground testing services on DSWA-owned Nuclear Weapons Effects (NWE) simulators. This is a follow-on to contract DNA001-95-D-0154. These simulators are located in PPI, and PPI developed and built all of the simulators provided in this contract. PPI has developed valuable corporate memory of NWE testing and machine operation of the simulators. Replacement by any other contractor, and/or relocation of the simulators would result in anacceptable excess costs. Additionally, any transfer of the operations to a new contractor would cause significant interruption in the operation of the simulators that would seriously impact the test schedules of many DoD NWE validation and test programs.
