703/614-4577 On behalf of the Army Research Institute, Defense Supply
Service-Washington intends to award five (5) separate requirements
contracts from this solicitation. One contract per task area. The
requirements described in this procurement addresses the conduct of
research, development, studies, and operations and maintenance relating
to training issues for Active Component and Reserve Component soldiers
and units in combined arms organizations with joint and collateral
exercises and activities. The five (5) areas of effort anticipated
under this procurement are outlined below; these tasks provide the
overall framework within which particular delivery orders will be
conducted. Task Area 1: Design, development and evaluation of
innovative training strategies, methods, materials, media, and training
management approaches, with the following subtask (a)-(f); (a) Embedded
training; (b) Intelligent tutoring; (c) Distance education and
training; (d) Virtual environments technology; (e) Individual, small
unit, combined arms, and joint training; (f) Force XXI and Arm After
Next. Task Are 2: Design of training assessment tools, and conduct of
short term and longitudinal evaluations of training and training
transfer. Task Area 3: Design, development, and evaluation of methods
and approaches for exercise control and performance feedback. Task Area
4: Front end analysis, training, and human performance implications on
simulator system design parameters. Task 5: Representation of human
behavior in computer generated forces. Each contract will be for 60
