The Defense Supply Service Washingto, on behalf of OSD, NATO Affairs, under authority of FAR 6.302, contemplates negotiation with one source, The Atlantic Council of the United States, Suite 1000, 910 17th Street, N.W. Washington, DC 20006, for a contract modication to extend the term of the contract for 24 monthm months, under contract number DASW01-96-C-0030. The proposed work shall include the following tasks: The contractor shall address the issue of NATO enlargement and the strengthening of the "Partnership for Peace" (PFP) in order to incorporate enhanced concepts on the state of civil-military relations in selected Partnership for Peace (PFP) nations, and find ways to give additional depth to the PFP program by policy and procedural recommendations that will be of benefit to senior level decision makers in both the United States and in PFP nations. This notice of intent in not a Request for Proposals, though any capability statement received within forty-five days after date of prublication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. Information received will be considered to determine whether or not to conduct a competitive acquisition. However, any determination not to compete this contrac action is within the Government's discretion. See Note 22.
