NASA/Kennedy Space Center (KSC) and the Air Force, 45th Space Wing (45th SW) intend to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to award a single contract for base support services to include KSC, Patrick Air Force Base (PAFB) and Cape Canaveral Air Station (CCAS). Examples of services which may be included in the consolidated contract are: security/law enforcement, fire protection, badging, dispatch, configuration management, crane management, food service, facilities operations and maintenance (O&M), roads and grounds O&M, heavy equipment, disaster preparedness, work control, information services, medical, life support, propellants, non-destructive tests, standards and calibrations, printing, aircraft maintenance, industrial hygiene, library services, design engineering, construction, launch instrumentation data reduction and mail service. Some services will be performed for both NASA and Air Force locations, while others will be performed for only one location. Some of these activities may be phased in over a three year period. A draft RFP is expected to be released Nov 97 for industry review and comments. The draft RFP, final RFP and related documents will be posted on the internet. These documents will be in ASCII, RTF or applicable format and will reside on World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. This page will be accessible on or about 11 Aug 97. NASA Acquisition Internet System (NAIS) will be the primary method of disseminating information concerning this acquisition.
