This is a combined synopsis solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Solicitation 53SBNB760268 is issued as a Request for Quotation and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-46. This action is being done under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 3577 and the small business size standard is 1000 employee's. This is a total Small Business Set-Aside. The Contract line item numbers (CLIN), are: CLIN 0001 Ruggedized SGI 02 for off-road driving conditions, 1 each. Please submit your pricing in accordance with CLIN structure identified in the sentence above. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is interested in acquiring a Ruggedized SGI 02 Workstation with the following specifications: The 02 and all other components must operate onboard a US Army HMMWV while traveling off-road at relatively high speeds (30 mph on smooth grass field, 10 mph across rougher terrain); Three 9.1 Gb Seagate 3.5 inches drives with hotswap receivers. Drives will be connected to 02 external SCSI and configured as a RAID storage for capture of live video. The drives will be housed in the same 19 inches chassis as the 02; 256 Mb RAM SIMMS installed in the 02; 13 inches Analog AMLCD flat panel display (1280x1024) ruggedized; Guided Acoustic Wave touch screen for flat display. Includes software, integration and testing; Rugged Keyboard with integral pointing device with tray and swivel mount; 28 VDC power supply (for operation of 02 using HMMWV batteries) and external 100-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz Inverter. The offerors shall guarantee that the ruggedized 02 will operate in off-road driving conditions. This is a critical requirement since components on the 02, such as the disk drives, are very sensitive to shock and vibration. Required delivery within 30 days from contract award. F.OB.
