synopsis/solicitation for the acquisition of commercial item prepared
in accordance with the format is Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; prices are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation R8-97-15 is
issued as a request for quote (RFQ). The solicitation document and
incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal
Circular 90-46. The applicable Standard Industrial Classification (SIC)
code is 3861; size standard 500 employees. This procurement is 100%
small business set-aside. The USDA-Forest Service is soliciting for the
acquisition of the following equipment, a video system (quantity -- 22
each), designed for viewing inside woodpeckers cavities without
leaving the ground. The system consists of a very light weight camera
(1.05 oz) built into a video probe. Total weight of the video probe is
less than 6 oz and consists of the camera, light, pc board, camera
housing, extender rod, and adjustable mount. The video probe is mounted
on top of a 50 feet telescoping fiberglass pole which is capable of
collapsing to 5 feet. A 3.8" diagonal LCD monitor is mounted to the
pole and attached to the camera with 60 feet ribbon cable. The cable is
spool mounted with rotary disconnect if it becomes snagged in brush.
The system is powered by a 9 volt battery carried in a belt pack.
Evaluation will be in accordance with FAR 52.212-2 based on price.
Offerors shall include a completed copy of FAR 52,232-3, Offerors
Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, with quotes.
Clause FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items,
applies without addenda. Clauses FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and
conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders
