The National Academy of Science, National Research Council will prepare a report for the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP)that will evaluate and synthesize research knowledge on drug control, and improve its relevance for federal, state, and local policy and program officials. The report will address the impact of existing drug interdiction treatment, enforcement, and prevention studies. The report will focus on emerging research and theory to explore options to improve understanding of the workings of prevention strategies to reduce drug use prevalence, interdiction strategies, law enforcement strategies, and for improving treatment protocols to achieve a larger, permanent reduction in drug comsumption.
