DUFECK (612) 290-5413 (Site Code DACW37) The work to be performed consists of a cultural resources investigation of approximately 335 acres of pumped storage area and approximately 16.2 miles of 200-meter-wide pipeline and open channel corridors between the West Bay of Devils Lake and the Sheyenne River in Benson County, North Dakota, for prehistoric and historic (archeological and architectural) sites. The Project area consists of two proposed outlet alternatives for Devils Lake along the Peterson Coulee route. Standard archeological survey methods including shovel testing are involved. In addition, coring to depths of 3 meters (10 feet) below the surface are involved along portions of the Project area. The contractor will provide a monograph length report detailing the results of the investigation. A North Dakota state archeological permit will be required. The contractor will have to comply with the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance for the portion of the Project area within the boundaries of the Spirit Lake Nation Reservation (former Devils Lake Sioux Reservation). A curation agreement with an in-state institution meeting the standards of 36 CFR Part 79 will be necessary. This procurement is issued unrestricted.
