C -- REPLACE AIR HANDLING UNITS SOL RFP 546-57-97 DUE 091297 POC Samuel Brown, Contracting Officer, 305/324-4455 ext. 3524 Architect/Engineer (A/E) Services for project 546-98 108 to furnish working drawings, specifications, estimates, and construction period services for replacing three (3) Air Handling Units (AHU's) 5, 9, and 13 and three (3) heatwheels designated as heatwheels 2, 4, and 5. All associated equipment including but not limited to ductwork, duct fittings, electrical conduit and wiring, dampers, Constant Air Volume (CV/Variable Air (VAV) terminal units, fans (supply air, return air, and exhaust air), prefilters, and after filters will also be replaced. The A/E will include a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to provide the expertise in asbestos survey and abatement. The A/E will verify the performance of the existing AHU's before beginning design. The A/E will calculate the capability of the existing coils (cooling, heating, pre-cooling, pre-heating, and re-heating) and fans (supply, return, and exhaust), including discharge air temperature off the coils, the pressure the fans produce, flow rates,etc. Rating factors will be in accordance with FAR PT 36 with special emphasis on past successful performance in replacing Air Handling Units. Construction Cost is estimated to be between $500,000 and 1,000,000. The SIC is 8712.
