DUE 093097 POC Edward Pritchard, (202) 205-8411 This is a notice of intent to contract on a sole source basis. The United States Information Agency intends to contract on a sole source basis with THOMCAST, INC., formerly ABB, for modifications to Government owned ABB brand transmitters located at the Agency's relay station on the Island of Tinian in the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas. Modifications to the transmitters include: the Contractor furnishing all equipment, documentation and material to effect a 50 Hz to 60 Hz frequency conversion; several; frequency extensions of HF broadcast bands and Technical Support to assist the Agency during its transmitter installation efforts. The basis for use of other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C. 253 (1) and only one (1) re-sponsible source will satisfy Agency requirements. THOMCAST, Inc. Suite 504, 500 Horizon Drive, Chalfont, PA 18914 designed, developed and manufactured the transmitters now owned by the Government and have specific detailed knowledge of the performance specifications. This is not a formal solicitation. Concerns which respond shall furnish detailed documentation of its capabilities to provide the aforementioned modifications within thirty (30) consecutive calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis.
