The Department of Veterans Affairs Connecticut Healthcare System (VA), is seeking sources to provide Home IV Therapy Services to its patients. The purpose, if a solicitation is issued, is to provide home intravenous infusion therapy at the homes of eligible veterans as designated by the VA. Patients may live in any area of Connecticut or in bordering towns in Massachusetts and New York. It is expected the home intravenous therapy will be comprised of 50% extended antibiotics and antiviral therapy, 45% chemotherapy and 5% total parenteral nutrition pain therapy. IV fluids would be included as part of the specified therapies. Included would be pharmacy services (preparation of medications, delivery and assuring effectiveness of therapy), nursing (patient education, all aspects of medication administration and monitoring), and other services naturally occurring with home therapy such as quality feedback to primary providers.
