R -- - NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT TO THE PACIFIC STATES MARINE FISHERIES COMMISSION (PSMFC). Notice of intent to issue a sole source contract to the PSMFC. The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) requires PSMFC to collect and organize information from existing PSMFC files and reports to identify and describe adverse impacts to Pacific salmon essential fish habitat (EFH) and to identify and describe actions needed to minimize adverse impacts to Pacific salmon EFH. NOAA proposes a sole source contract ot PSMFC since PSMFC has established relationships with state fisheries departments and can directly obtain needed information from the states critical for this contract. PSMFC has also established information-sharing relationshisp with Tribal governments and other federal agencies involved in salmon habitat management. Finally, PSMFC has considerable experience and existing information needed for successful completion of the proposed contract. Proosed contract term is 9/1/97 -- 3/30/98. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.
