Kennedy Space Center (NASA/KSC) is seeking a company as a commercial partner for joint development of a NASA-developed Quantitative Contamination Monitor for commercial use. This device was developed at KSC's Contamination Monitoring Laboratory to quantitatively measure particulate fallout contamination in cleanrooms and near space flight hardware. The device gives a real-time indication of particles (size and number) as they fall on sensitive payload surfaces. Potential commercial applications may include monitoring particulate contamination in food packaging, electronics manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, painting operations, and paint manufacturing. NASA seeks a company that is interested in developing or modifying this technology for commercial application. A technical briefing on the proposed project will be held at KSC September 26, 1997.
